Tipi Village Experience – Guest Agreement

The Whitecourt ISGA Tourism Association (WITA) is honoured to host you at our Tipi Village on Treaty 6 territory. To help ensure cultural safety, mutual respect, and a good experience for all, we ask guests to read and acknowledge the following agreement.

By participating in our Tipi Village programs, you agree to the following terms:

1. Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver

I understand that my participation in land-based and cultural programming may involve physical activity, outdoor exposure, contact with natural elements, or use of tools or materials.

I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation and agree to release and hold harmless the Whitecourt ISGA Tourism Association, its Elders, facilitators, helpers, employees, and volunteers from any liability, injury, loss, damage, or death that may occur during or after the event.

2. Confidentiality & Respect of Personal Stories

I understand that guests, Elders, or facilitators may share personal stories, cultural teachings, or experiences that are sensitive, sacred, or tied to lived trauma. I agree to:

• Keep all personal or shared stories confidential

• Not repeat, record, or publish others’ experiences without explicit permission

• Respect the emotional safety of all participants

3. Cultural & Intellectual Property Protection

I agree not to recreate, record, reproduce, or profit from any part of the Tipi Village experience — including designs, teachings, ceremony, setup, signage, stories, or programming content — without written permission from WITA.

This includes:

• Imitating or copying WITA’s Tipi Village program for personal or business use

• Using photos, audio, or video recordings from the experience for personal or commercial use without consent

• Replicating ceremonial or cultural elements for gain or exhibition

4. Guest Waiver & Confidentiality Agreement

I have read and agree to the Guest Waiver & Confidentiality Agreement. I understand that I am participating at my own risk and agree not to share personal stories or replicate any part of the Tipi Village experience for personal or commercial gain. 

*By confirming your booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms outlined in this waiver.
